The unique shape of our cooler doesn’t just turn heads; it features tapered sides and a slimmer top, making it easier to strap down. Tighten a strap around this thinner section to secure the cooler, and it doubles as extra storage for anything you need to attach or stow.; speakers, lights, life jackets, or whatever else your trip demands. Fat Bottom Coolers was born in 2020 when Marcus got frustrated with the hassle of strapping and unstrapping traditional coolers during his outdoor adventures—whether rafting, riding, or just enjoying nature. He thought, ‘What if the bottom of the cooler was just slightly larger than the middle? That way, a strap could fit around the thinner part like a belt around your waist.’ After looking at the coolers on the market, all of which looked the same, he realized there was nothing like this out there.

After several prototypes, Marcus decided to make the cooler curvy and, knowing it had to be made in America, named it Fat Bottom Coolers. Despite being told it couldn’t be done and that manufacturing in the U.S. would be too expensive, he eventually found an American manufacturer willing to take a chance on a new idea.

Fat Bottom Coolers wasn’t created to be the cooler that holds ice for ten days—we set out to make something that’s easy to use, easy to strap down, provides direct access without unnecessary add-ons, and looks great doing it. We believe we’ve succeeded in making a cooler as unique as our customers. And yes, Fat Bottom Coolers will hold ice just as long as the competition!
